Blanes is a large resort Popular with Spanis and German holidaymakers. The resort is only about 50 kilometres from Barcelona and on the main rail route, so a day out is a must, although there is an excellent array of shops in Blanes itself. The beach stretches for roughly 4 kilometres and there are secluded sandy coves further up the coast for those that like seclusion. The beaches however tend to be coarse and gritty and shelve steeply into deep water. Blanes is ideally located within easy access of local aqua parks. There is a varied range of restaurants on offer with local catalunian fare a specialty. You will however have no problem finding cafes,Chinese and Italian etc. Blanes has a good pub nightlife but would not be the place for the dnightclub set, in high summer it hosts several music festivals(check our listing for details).
