Estartit : (l’estartit)

 

Estartit is the furthest north of the resorts on the costa brava and is approaching the French border. It is literally 5 miles from girona airport so visitors have a choice of flights, however the downside is it is remote to the rest of the Costa Brava and not ideal for those looking to enjoy the themeparks and waterparks.The main beaches are Pletera and griells and both offer excellent watersport facilities and are safe and clean for children,daytrips to the local medes islands are a popular day out. The picturesque town is a working harbour and as a result fresh fish in the local restaurants is superb. There is also a modern Marina in the newer part of town which attracts above average dining. Bars are lively in Estartit but essentially it is a family resort and not the best spot for nightcrawlers.
