Lloret de mar:
Lloret de mar is the biggest and liveliest resort on the Costa Brava. Whilst being family friendly the resort tends to be popular with a younger party crowd and as a result it has a raucous nightlife which goes on till the sun comes up. The town is surrounded by a choice of beaches which can be a bit crowded during the summer months. The promenade is shaded by palm fronds and you can hire out jetskis and other other watersports along here. There are two golf courses nearby but be sure to bring proof of handicap if you want to play a round. The resort is home to a large waterpark and marine park and for youngsters there is a childrens zoo. At night the town explodes with disco bars and later on nightclubs, although it tends to be concentrated and can be sidestepped by those looking for a quieter night.
Because of its International nature there is an excellent selection of diverse dining to savour. From egg and chips caffs to Mexican,Thai and Indonesian restaurants. Those looking for an authentic Spanish meal are best served by bars and restaurants located around the walls of the old town.
