L’Ametlla de Mar is a pretty and Authentic Catalan fishing town. It has escaped the grip of the developers and is still low rise and has a maze of cobbled streets in the town. The harbour is busy with yachts and the main tourists tend to be Locals from The Barcelona area who want to get away without the concrete jungle. From the Harbour up past la Cala Nova up to Les tres cales you will find a selection of secluded beaches and coves. Not really enough going on here to justify staying here instead of somewhere with a bit more life, but if you have the hire car its a nice spot for lunch and an afternoon stroll.
