Салоу :

Fifteen minutes from Reus airport and about an hour from Barcelona, Salou is the busiest resort on the Costa Dorada. A big favourite with british holday makers it gets very busy during the summer and August in particular, when the Spanish come for their holidays. Like the rest of the gold coast temperatures drop in winter and it is not an option for winter sun. The beaches along the levanter are large and clean and a promenade runs the length of the resort all the way down to the flatlands of Cambrils, which has almost become annexed. Despite being built up it is not a high rise resort and even during summer when the party is in full swing the resort has plenty of options for people of all ages and is great for families. Nearby you have the Universal theme park which will keep you occupied for at least a day, However if like us you have a problem with queues then give it a miss in August unless you are young and mad. There are also numerous aquaparks, Karting and golf courses nearby. Theres a good selection of food places although many restaurants are similar in fare, if you are looking for something cheaper then keep away from the promenade.

Because of its size there are always good deals on accommodation particularly outside of august, so shop around as some of the really cheap places further up the hill are not worth the savings.
