塔拉戈纳

塔拉戈纳 :

Tarragona is located about an hour from Barcelona by train, it is also close to Reus airport which Ryanair fly into for small money. The town is Dripping in culture and History with roman ruins dating back to 2nd century bce Augustus Caesar period. The town is still being excavated and you can find history in nearly every corner of the town. If you are after a sun and fun break you should really keep heading south down the coast. Tarragona is on the coast and has several kilometres of good beaches it is also however a busy industrial port so not exactly set up for basking in the sun. It is a good sized town with shopping particularly around the Rambla Nova and its side streets worth a look. There are good selections of restaurants with some very good authentic catalunyan seafood places. The main bar area is down at the port (el Port) and there are a few clubs to try here. Ultimately we love the history and architecture and for that reason alone we find Tarragona fascinating but if sights are not for you then head on down to salou for a real holiday town.
