Torredembarra :

Torredembarra is a small town about 14Km from Tarragona. It used to be a quiet escape from the summer crowds of Costa Dorada but has seen a lot of development in recent years. The good news is that a lot of the apartment/villas that have been erected have been to a good standard and clearly the resort developers are trying to attract a more settled crowd. The main beach has also seen development with a long paved path running the entire length which is ideal for roller skaters or joggers.

Despite the development there is still not much going on in the area and you definitely should hire a car and be prepared to seek out your own entertainment. If you like the quiet but want a bit more seclusion then you could head up to the next town Altafulla which feels more like Torredembarra from twenty years ago and here you are guaranteed a few dunes all to yourself.
