The Old town of Ayamonte in the Costa de la Luz is a picturesque and car free Andalucían town. It is the last town on west coast of Spain and you can look across the Guardiana river towards Portugal. The beach area is found in the Isla canela where miles of beaches stretch out across the Guardiana marshes. The area is popular with surfers and watersports enthusiasts. The marshes around ayamonte themselves provide a haven for birdwatchers. As we face towards the Algarve the golf courses start to pop up and Golfers should bring their bag and handicap with them as there are several quality courses nearby.
