Marbella

Marbella:

Marbella along with its satellite town Puerto Banus is considered the Riviera of the costas and is popular with the Jetset , boatowners and the young and wealthy.

To be fair though it is not all lined in red carpet and there is plenty to do and see for mere mortals like ourselves. The centre of the old town Orange square is a cool place for a coffee or Lunch and is surrounded by little side streets and avenues with some excellent small shops and bars. If you want to bust the credit card in the shops you will find the prices in the boutiques around Puerto Banus more suited to your needs. For a more sensible shop the La Canada Shopping Mall is a modern complex with familiar brands such as Marks and Spencers, A food court and a multiplex cinema. Food in Marbella is by far the best in the Costa del Sol there is an excellent selection of International cuisine of a very high standard and while you can spend a little bit more, in General you can get very good value and don’t need to sell a kidney to eat well. The Main beaches in Marbella are El Fuerte and La Fontanilla and in truth they are not fantastic.

Marbella is more suited to couples or people who enjoy good food and wine, unless you are staying in one of the five star resorts nearby there is not a huge amount to do for children.
