Nerja
Nerja :
Nerja 50 km from Malaga on the Eastern border of the costa del sol is a popular location for ex pats to meet. Surrounded by the aljimara mountain range and built mostly over cliffs it has attractive beaches and is friendly but is not ideal for young families. The town itself is authentic and unsullied by mass tourism and bustles with life from bars ,restaurants and shops. Nightlife tends to be a stroll after dinner and the resort is more popular with retirees than clubbers. Only 3km from the village centre are Nerja caves which have evidence of paintings and evidence of occupation dating back as far as 20000bc, they are considered a national treasure in Spain. The best views in the area are from the Balcon De Europa a tree lined lookout to sea located just off the central square.
