Torremolinos :

Torremolinos is the oldest and biggest resort on the Costa del sol,  and if it’s the real Spain you are after then you have come to the wrong place. The resort gets a lot of bad reviews but the truth is, it has everything and more that you will need for a good family holiday.

Fifteen  kilometres from Malaga the resort has done a lot to improve its reputation in recent years.  The six beaches are kept spotless and have a good selection of watersports on offer, Nearby are the popular aquapark and Tivoli world park. The town is fully stocked with shops and bars. It is hard to escape the blocks of pre cast concrete high rises that blot the seafront but later developments have been planned out better. The town has a modern marina and there has been extensive planting of palm trees on the seafront and avenues. The town is big enough to have different nightlife in different parts of town. It doesn’t attract a trendy club crowd but late night stop outs should head up to The Palladium where they will find a selection of discos. The area around the Marina is popular with live music bars. The town has always had  a decent gay scene and the area around La Nogalera is where most of the good spots are.

Torremolinos is now almost twinned with Benalmadena and both resorts have large supermarkets for those planning on self catering.
